Originally from Nelspruit, Celette qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in 1998 at the University of Pretoria and started her career in Mental Health at Riverfield Lodge (Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation Centre). She then relocated to the UK for 6 years where she mostly worked as an OT in Neurology, Orthopedics and Pediatrics.
On her return to South Africa she settled in Cape Town and qualified in Sensory Integration and served on the board of the South African Instituted for Sensory Integration (SAISI) from 2013 – 2017. During this time, she held numerous positions including at the Western Cape Education Department as Inclusive Education District Therapist where she was involved in strategic planning and implementation of services. She also worked at Jessen Dakile as their Western Cape representative where she specialised in Environmental accessibility and adaptations for disabilities.
After leaving Jessen Dakile she returned to Private Practice and worked Part-Time as a Lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch Medicine Campus where her responsibilities included facilitation of Medical Students in Inter-professional learning. For the past 12 years Celette has worked as a clinical therapist in Private Practice and has qualified as a Tomatis Practitioner, Interactive Metronome Practitioner and Advanced DIR/Floortime provider. Currently, her client group consist of Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Adult Neurology.
